The adventures of Squishy and Bean

Oh, How We’ve Grown!

Squishy has grown quite a bit in the last little while – I can now feel every little movement he makes – and they are getting really strong! Especially those ones in the ribs! My belly has grown right along with him. And now I feel huge! Luckily last week I still felt cute. We had some maternity pictures taken by our wedding photographer. They turned out fantastically. You can view them here:

Hope you enjoy them!

U2 Rocks!

We our back from our trip to the mainland, and the U2 concert was fantastic! Squishy loved it and was dancing, jumping and kicking around. He is definately a classic U2 fan – he prefered their older stuff to the newer stuff… manybe because mommy plays the new stuff in the car too much! Anyway, the concert was wonderful. The circular stage was awesome and they really play into the audience – and walked around so they faced everyone (even the people behind the stage). My only regret is not sneaking in a camera to get a few shots! Oh well.

Here is the list of songs they played during the concert:

We had a fantastic time! We also did some shopping and got Squishy a few outfits from the Carters, GAP and OshKosh outlets, some classic pooh stuff from Target, and a footstool/toybox from Ikea.

Definately a fun get away before Baby Squishy arrives!

The Beating of a Little Heart

Last night after prenatal class I was lying on the sofa and I could feel Squishy move over to my right side. His back squished up right up top and I could feel a quick thump thump thump…. much too fast for hiccups. I started to time how fast it was – 130 BPM. Adam came over and listened with his ear on my belly and sure enough he could hear Squishy’s heartbeat and feel it beating under his hand.

All these little moments make me fall in love with both my boys, over and over again!

Squishy update

So I’m now at 32 weeks 3 days, and I had a midwife appointment yesturday. Passed the glucose tolerance test with flying colors. And got the ultrasound results. Baby is still measuring slightly small, but has had considerable growth and development looks really good.

The goofy thing – the ultrasound tech put a note in saying that I told her that I ovulated last – so that’s probably why on the first ultrasound the dates were off and baby measured small… I told them that the first time around too. However, although they said that it was probably the cause of the small growth, due to a wrong date…. they still said that I was a week ahead, and have still said June 5…. my midwives and I agree that the date is suopposed to be June 13… so whatever. The ultrasound techs have noted a discrepancy but won’t commit to anything… because that would have been too simple the first time!

So, eveything seems good so far. I have another appointment in 3 weeks, and then I start going every week until Squishy decides he’s ready to pop out.

On a sidenote: No, we have not committed to any names yet, but thank you to everyone who asks me everyday!

Ultrasound part deux… hello from…

…our “Bundle of Boy”!! (Click the picture to read the shirt!)

Yup! Squishy is a little baby boy! We are thrilled to know we are having a son!

Edited to add some details of the ultrasound:
Squishy’s heart was beating at 161 BPM, and according to the tech, his measurements looked much better than last time, and everything seemed okay. His approximate weight was about 3pounds 15 ounces. He also kept kicking at us, so she measured his foot and it’s already 6.24 cm! We’ll find out more at our next midwife appointment in a week and a half.

Restless…

We have our second ultrasound in about three hours… it could be the ultrasound where Squishy will let us know if we’ll be bringing home a baby girl or a baby boy. Right now I’m very anxious about it…. and restless! Squishy must be feeling my anxiety, because in the last 12 hours Squishy has had the hiccups 6 times. (Although one time was because Adam startled the baby).

Hiccup!

Hiccup!

Hiccup!

This is going to be a long three hours!

30 weeks!

We have reached 30 weeks of pregnancy! Yay! We are 3/4 done! Woohoo! Some days I feel like there is not much room left for Squishy, and I think Squishy has been feeling the same way. This baby has been squirming around a lot, and waking me up from all the baby aerobics that is happening in there. Last week, I snuggled up next to Adam in bed, and Squishy kicked so hard – Adam felt it and was woken up!

However, kicking has had some great advantages too. A few weeks ago while I was asleep, Adam asked Squishy if he should buy me a diamond tennis bracelet for my birthday. Squishy kicked once for yes – so now I own this beautiful bracelet:

Thank you Squishy! And Squishy’s Dad!

I also went out and got a new hair cut, although my sister says it’s a “mom cut” and now I look like a mom!

Short Hair

Oh well… approximately 10 weeks left, and then I really will be a mom!
