My midwives told me that the second trimester is rather boring. Nothing too exciting happens, except the belly gets bigger and there is a lot of movement. They were right! The belly is getting huge and Squishy moves an quite a bit. Lately, instead of watching TV I’ve been watching my belly jump around. It’s one of the best reality shows out there! Other than that I feel like we are waiting… waiting for the next trimester, waiting for the next midwife appointment, waiting for the next ultrasound… 23 weeks and 3 days done… only another 16 and a half weeks to go! (I feel like a kid who’s anxious for Christmas in October!)

Yay… we may not have ever finished the wedding website… a wedding and a year and a half later…. but Squishy has a website ready – yahoo! Thanks Squishy’s daddy!!
Squishy’s little friend was born on Tuesday February 8th! His name is Kaari and he is adorable. Adam and I had such a fun time holding him and shopping for him. Now we can’t wait for Squsihy to be born! It will be babies everywhere in this building!
So we got the full results form the ultrasound at my midwife appointment today. Luba told me that some of the baby’s parts – head circumfrence, abdomin and internal organs – we’re only measuring at the 10th percentile at the time of the ultrasound. So right now Squishy is tiny. We are going to have another ultrasound int he third trimester. As long as the baby continues to develop everything will be okay. She said everything was functioning fine, and the heartbeat sounded great. So I was told not to worry at all.
But I’m a mom…. of course I’m going to worry a little!
What do you get when you mix a Horse with a Snake?…
A Rooster! It’s Chinese New Year and our little Squishy will born under the year of the Rooster. Here’s what I found out about Roosters:
The Year of the Rooster:
What you see is what you get! Straightforward and forthright to the core, Rooster people have no hidden agendas. Endowed with a keen sixth sense, Roosters are extremely observant people with nothing escaping their notice – so beware you can’t fool a Rooster.
Though they seem conservative, Roosters are extremely conscious of their looks and appearance and will not bat an eyelid at spending extravagntly on clothes and anything that will enhance their appearance. Practicality and resourcefulness maybe their trademark, yet they are intrinsically dreamers to the core. Roosters make the best of friends as loyalty is an obsession with them and they always keep their promise.
-Squishy definately sounds like he or she will be a combination of mommy and daddy!
Squishy is now able to hear, so Adam read Winnie the Pooh to the baby. We’ve also introduced music to Squishy by playing Baby Bach on headphones which I’ve placed on my tummy. Squishy loves to dance around, which is good because Squishy will be rocking out with us at the U2 concert in April.
Baby migration. Thats what Squishy tends to do, rolling from one side of me to the other. Adam felt it and was amazed.
